Ronaldo hails Queiroz Monday, July 14, 2008 CRISTIANO Ronaldo has described Carlos Queiroz's appointment as the new Portugal coach as 'a perfect choice'.
Queiroz agreed a four-year contract with the Portuguese Football Federation to succeed new Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari on Friday.
This came after Manchester United agreed to release him from his duties as Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant.
Ronaldo has come to know Queiroz as something of a father figure at Old Trafford since he joined the club from Sporting Lisbon.
The 23-year-old was clearly delighted to continue their working relationship at the international level.
The Portuguese megastar is convinced that Queiroz is the right man to lead Portugal to the international success that has so long eluded them.
'He is a perfect choice,' Ronaldo told Portuguese broadcaster RTP.
'I have been working with him for some time and I just have to say that he is very good for this job.'
